For us, Kanjeevaram sarees have always meant more than just fabric. Woven in Kanchipuram, the sacred home of Kamakshi, these sarees carry a sense of reverence and legacy that we have grown up with. As performers we are often drawn to coordinated choices both in music and in sarees :) Spending time with Taneira’s Kanjeevaram collection at their Chennai store felt like reconnecting with a lineage of craft, devotion, and beauty. From their beautifully curated selection, we selected a lovely set of pink sarees with gold laksha butta design - exquisitely grand, yet subtle and understated in their elegance. We don’t often get the time to step out and shop during the Margazhi season, so this felt like a welcome pause amid our concert schedules. We look forward to the rest of the season unfolding, filled with music, art, and celebration.
