There’s something deeply comforting about walking into a space where tradition feels alive and cared for. The Taneira store felt just that way, exquisite sarees, thoughtfully laid out, inviting you to slow down, browse, and really look. Carnatic music and Kanjeevaram sarees go hand in hand, and with the music season upon us, it was the perfect time to visit this gorgeous store for some shopping with my dear friend Vid. Amritha Murali @murali.amritha I carry such fond memories of Kanjeevaram sarees from my grandmother’s time, the colours, the textures, the quiet pride with which they were worn. This collection brought many of those memories back. With so many styles and hues to choose from, it wasn’t easy to settle with just one. As someone who deeply admires art in any form, I could sense the love and pride with which the exceptional artisans had woven these stunning sarees. For this Margazhi season, I eventually picked a bright yellow saree with a soft pink and purple border, vibrant, yet gentle in its own way. I wore this for my Narada Gana Sabha concert, and it felt perfect for the stage. Hope you are all having a joyous, music-filled Margazhi season!
